Each firing is slightly different. Sometimes glaze materials change. Sometimes the kiln spits on the pots, sometimes the glaze is applied too thick and runs or bubbles. We have sanded the glaze runs and flawed areas smooth and even. We sell these pots as "Seconds".

Seconds are discounted from about $50 - $100 to reflect these flaws, runny glaze, chips, and surface imperfections.

Seconds perform as well as "firsts" in cooking environments. We do not sell imperfect pots that can no longer be used as a cooking pot.

Use on the stovetop (gas, electric or wood), in the oven, under the broiler, on the grill.

Makes a gorgeous roasted chicken! Prepare a classic paella. Flash cook greens, sauté vegetables, simmer risotto, caramelize onions, stir fry rice, bake a fruit clafoutis – beautifully presented from the kitchen to the table. Bake, Sauté, Sear, Braise, Roast, Broil, Grill, Simmer. Each pot is handmade and may vary slightly in surface and size.

Color Choices:

Bordeaux	Tuscan Gold

Bordeaux gives us a very consistent surface. This lovely burgundy glaze has a slightly iridescent sheen.	Tuscan Gold is an active glaze with a lively surface ranging in color from straw yellow to amber orange to dark autumn gold.
